| | Dear readers, The situation is grim for MBA aspirants as AICTE bans many of the important management entrance exams such as XAT, ATMA, and MICAT and engineers seem to score better in CAT. IIMs have, finally, revealed their scoring patterns and are taking steps to equate its admission process to students from all streams of education. Private management institutes too seem to grow discontented over new AICTE norms. However, there has been a breather for 44 deemed universities, with an enrollment of over 2 lakh students, which are under the threat of being de-recognized because of the deficiencies in their infrastructure, facilities, and faculty, as per the regulations. Moreover, Kapil Sibal has announced that Indian students will be able to study on net in next two years. Overall, this Shiksha Cafe addition unfolds many changes in the way we perceive Indian education. Shiksha Cafe Editor |

| Impress Them All in the GD (Group Discussion) Round! Seize on an opportunity to contribute your viewpoint. No one will ask you to speak in a Group Discussion round. Meaningful arguments, based on a good knowledge base, which are put forth logically matter more in group discussions. Be ready with your paper and pen and note down important ideas, wherever necessary, to be able to form a good contributory argument to the discussion. Participants who can contribute a fresh or more relevant direction score better in a group discussion round. The ability to garner support from other participants or influence them will help you win over your evaluator in a GD round.
